Frequently asked

A little more context.

What is BaseSense?

BaseSense is a personal health pattern discovery app. It helps you keep a daily health journal, establish your personal baseline, and explore how symptoms, sleep, mood, anxiety, nutrition, blood pressure, and routines change together over time.

Is BaseSense a medical or diagnostic app?

No. BaseSense is a wellness and organization tool. It does not diagnose conditions, interpret emergencies, prescribe treatment, or replace advice from a qualified healthcare professional.

What is a personal health baseline?

A personal baseline is a picture of what is typical for you across ordinary days. BaseSense uses your recent history to provide context for changes, rather than treating a generic target as your only definition of normal.

How is BaseSense different from a symptom tracker?

A basic symptom tracker records isolated events. BaseSense is designed to connect symptom logging with sleep, mood, anxiety, meals, blood pressure, and daily habits so your history retains the context around each event.

How long does it take to establish a health baseline?

You may notice simple trends within days, but a more useful baseline generally develops over several weeks of consistent check-ins. Reliability depends on the amount, consistency, and quality of the information you record.

Can BaseSense identify what caused a symptom?

BaseSense can surface associations and sequences worth exploring, but an association does not prove cause and effect. Use observations to ask better questions, not to self-diagnose or make high-impact medical changes.

What symptoms can I track?

BaseSense is designed for flexible daily symptom tracking, including experiences such as fatigue, headaches, discomfort, dizziness, digestive symptoms, and other personal observations. Availability may evolve during early access.

Can I use BaseSense as a headache tracker?

Yes. You can build a headache history with severity, timing, duration, and surrounding context such as sleep, meals, stress, and hydration. New, sudden, severe, or unusual headaches require professional evaluation rather than more tracking.

Can I track fatigue and low energy?

Yes. BaseSense can help you compare fatigue or energy with sleep timing, perceived sleep quality, meals, stress, activity, and other context. Persistent or worsening fatigue should be discussed with a healthcare professional.

Can BaseSense help me track anxiety triggers?

You can privately record anxiety intensity and surrounding routines or events. BaseSense may help you notice repeated context, but it is not mental health treatment, crisis support, or proof that a particular event caused anxiety.

Does BaseSense include mood tracking?

Yes. Quick mood check-ins are part of the connected daily health view, allowing you to review mood alongside sleep, symptoms, nutrition, anxiety, and habits rather than as a standalone score.

Does BaseSense measure blood pressure?

No. BaseSense does not measure blood pressure. It organizes readings you enter from a validated cuff and keeps details such as time and measurement context. A clinician should interpret concerning readings.

How should I take blood pressure readings at home?

Follow the instructions for your validated upper-arm device and your clinician’s plan. Consistent technique, correct cuff size, seated rest, and recording repeated readings can improve the usefulness of your history.

Can I track food without counting calories?

Yes. Nutrition context can be useful without a calorie target. You can focus on meals, timing, foods you want to revisit, or notes about how the day felt. Optional calorie tracking is available for people who find it useful.

Can BaseSense find food triggers?

It can help you compare food notes with later symptoms, but it cannot confirm a food allergy, intolerance, or causal trigger. Avoid major elimination diets based only on an app pattern; consult an appropriate professional.

Is BaseSense useful for chronic or invisible illness?

It can help organize daily experiences and prepare a clearer symptom history. It does not manage, diagnose, or treat chronic illness, and it should complement—not replace—your established care plan.

Do I need an Apple Watch or wearable?

No. Fast manual logging is a first-class experience. Planned wearable integrations may add biometric context later, but BaseSense remains useful without a device.

Will BaseSense connect with Apple Health and HealthKit?

Apple Health, HealthKit, and Apple Watch support are on the product roadmap. Integration scope and timing may change as privacy, reliability, and platform requirements are evaluated.

What will AI health insights do?

Planned AI features will summarize your own history, surface changes, and show supporting time ranges. They are not intended to diagnose conditions or provide treatment instructions, and uncertainty should be visible rather than hidden.

Can BaseSense predict future symptoms?

Predictive trends are a research direction, not a current promise. Any future feature would require careful evaluation, clear limitations, and responsible language that does not imply medical certainty.

Can I share my history with a healthcare provider?

Exportable reports and provider summaries are planned. They are intended to help you communicate timing, frequency, severity, and context more clearly—not to replace clinical records or professional interpretation.

Does BaseSense offer medication tracking?

Medication tracking is planned for a later phase. Never start, stop, or change medication based on an app observation without speaking with the prescribing healthcare professional.

Are lab integrations available?

Lab integrations are being explored for the future. BaseSense does not currently interpret lab results, and laboratory information should be reviewed with a qualified professional.

How fast is daily logging?

The product is designed around a focused daily check-in that can be completed in under a minute for many users. You can add more context on days when detail matters.

Can I edit or delete a health journal entry?

The planned account experience includes controls for correcting and deleting entries. Accurate control over your own history is an important part of responsible health tracking.

Who owns the information I add?

You retain ownership of the personal information you add. BaseSense is being designed around user control, export, deletion, and data minimization.

Does BaseSense sell personal health information?

No. The BaseSense privacy principle is not to sell personal health information. Final production practices will be documented in a transparent, jurisdiction-specific privacy policy before public launch.

Is BaseSense HIPAA compliant?

BaseSense does not currently claim HIPAA compliance. The product uses HIPAA-inspired security practices as a design reference, but a formal compliance claim requires specific operational, contractual, and technical safeguards.

How is BaseSense data protected?

The planned security model includes encryption in transit and at rest where supported, least-privilege access, secure cloud synchronization, and controls for export and deletion. Detailed production safeguards will be documented before launch.

When should I stop tracking and seek care?

Seek urgent help for severe, sudden, rapidly worsening, or otherwise alarming symptoms. Tracking should never delay emergency care. For persistent concerns or meaningful changes, contact a qualified healthcare professional.

Where will I find pricing?

Current plans, pricing and purchase options will be shown clearly inside the BaseSense app before you subscribe or pay.
